Sizing
Our dock lines are handmade using premium 100% nylon 3-strand twisted rope. The rope has less twist for a softer lay so it remains easy to handle without a reduction in strength. The softer lay construction our 3-strand nylon is ideal for dock lines given its stretch, shock absorption and abrasion resistant characteristics. Nylon is inherently resistant to most chemicals, heat, rot, mildew and UV which makes it perfect for marine use. Our dock lines have a professionally taper spliced eye with 5-7 tucks and heavy-melt tails. The opposite end is melted, dipped and whipped with white thread.

Our 3-strand nylon rope meets the Cordage Institutes CI-1303 standard.
Tensile strengths for new rope are based on tests in accordance with ASTM Test Method D-4268 on new and unused rope in laboratory conditions.
The rule of thumb for sizing dock lines is 1.5 - 2 times the beam for bow and stern lines and .75 - 1 time the boat length for spring lines.
