Physics proves longer snubbers are stronger and more comfortable to crew when the wind pipes up. However, there's a significant market for short snubbers. Our solution: allow folks to choose the length that's best for their boat and the conditions they typically encounter. We still offer snubbers in popular, fixed lengths for those that need a quick turnaround on shipping.
The 48 North Marine Anchor snubber is hand-assembled and made of marine-grade, UV stabilized 3-strand white high-quality nylon rope with a stainless steel thimble spliced into the eye. You can configure the:
- overall length from 12' - 42' (contact us if you need something outside these parameters)
- boat end treatment: hand-whipped end, 12" soft eyes with or without anti-chafe
- shackle size and type: cast or forged
- black anti-chafing
- whipping thread color if you choose a whipped end for the boat end
- chain hook or pendant
Note: This product is made-to-order
and, depending on the season, can take 3-7 business days to make and ship. If
you need a quick turnaround, have a look at our pre-made snubbers or give us a call. Customer configured snubbers take more time to make and thus cost a little more. We use only stainless steel hardware and Chafe-Master or Chafe-Pro are our anti-chafe sleeves of choice. These products are durable and come in an array of sizes affording a better fit. We stopped using colored tubular webbing due to the limited sizes which made it ill-fitting on most common rope sizes.
