After a years' long search for an ideal alternative to 3-strand nylon for anchor and mooring bridles, we found the perfect product. Samson's PTS-12 Nylon is a 12-strand, coated, heat stabilized nylon bridle line that offers excellent strength and energy absorption, and is extremely durable. PTS-12 is the perfect alternative for several reasons:

It's almost twice a strong as the equivalent size 3-strand
PTS-12 w/ Samathane coating is more abrasion and UV resistant than the equivalent 3-strand
It has excellent shock mitigation and elongation with 4.7% at 10% of break strength compared to 3-strand's 5.5% at 10%
It uses a Class 1 12-strand splice so it's very easy to splice. If you've spliced Dyneema, then you can splice PTS-12
The final product is clean without splice tails to hang up on hardware
Smaller storage requirement - Due to PTS-12's strength, you can use a smaller line, and it's non-rotational so you can fold it instead of coiling it. The storage foot print is approx 1/3 that of coiled 3-strand

As you can see from the table, you can use the next smaller diameter to meet a given load requirement. This is big for us as a manufacturer as we can offer a stronger but smaller and more compact product with a cleaner design. We will provide our anchor snubber and mooring bridles in a 12-strand option for 2024.

Note: This product is not a plaited rope like most other 12-strand on the market. It looks almost exactly like Dyneema except the feel is somewhat softer to the hand.

Sold by the foot with a 10' minimum. Longest contiguous piece is 600'
