Description

Cast tubular, gusseted, medium-duty 304 SS thimble. Tubular gusseted thimbles are recommended by rope manufacturers for 12-strand rope products (Dyneema, Spectra, Vectran, PTS-12 nylon, etc) that use a Class 1 eye splice. Using common, open throated thimbles for this splice is sub-optimal as 12-strand products typically require a larger bend radius. Smaller sizes in these thimbles are commonplace due in large part to their use in small diameter Dyneema towing lines popular with off-road enthusiasts. Thimbles larger than 12mm are more difficult to find in the US so we've had to import them for our new PTS-12 nylon mooring and anchoring bridles. Although we buy these in large lots, freight costs are very expensive and comprise more than 50% of the total cost.

We offer these in 3/8" (#10), 1/2" (#12), 5/8" (#16), 3/4" (#22), 7/8" (#24). If you place an order and it's back-ordered, turnaround is typically 6 - 8 weeks for replenishment.
